Why the quality of the relationship still matters

Technology has made much of this business faster and better. It has not made the relationship less important.

Systems can price, report, monitor and remind. They can remove friction that once consumed entire afternoons. What they cannot do is sit with a family through a difficult decision, or hold the memory of why a structure was set up a decade ago.

The moments that matter in a wealth relationship are usually not transactional. A business sale, an illness, a move between jurisdictions, a disagreement between generations — these call for judgment, discretion and continuity.

That is the argument for building a firm around people first and letting technology amplify what they can do, rather than the other way round.
